The holiday time of year is coming around like lightening. It will be here before we know it. What are we going to buy for our friends and relatives? This question haunts many people year after year. Some go for the outlandish, some go for a nice dinner, some go for cards and some go for nothing at all. What makes a great gift? Let's take a look at this question.
One of the gifts that I remember the most was not an overly costly item but a handy, useful tool organizer that my daughter, who was about twelve at the time, bought for me. I use this ugly green device all the time. It's sturdy, durable and it serves it's purpose. Although it doesn't give me thrills when I look at it or provide fun, joy or peace of mind (except for the peace of mind having a cleaner garage provides) it is something that I really appreciate. It was a great gift item.
What do people appreciate? How about nutritional supplements/vitamin supplements for a wild gift idea? Before you deep six this idea pause for a moment and consider. Obviously this is not going to be an ultra glamorous gift that people are going overly to jump for joy at upon receipt and show off all over town, but after some contemplation, it will probably be very much appreciated.
If a vitamin or other nutritional product is purchased as a girt for a person there are three distinct advantages:
First, you probably are not going to lose an arm or a leg in the purchase, they are normally pretty reasonable.
Second, it can show a person that you are really thinking about them. It will show that you have genuine concern for him or her.
Third, if the nutritional supplement/vitamin supplement provides some benefit the receiver is going to be thankful for a long period of time, possibly for the rest of their life. This is what makes a great gift.
Many of the gifts or presents we buy others, no matter our intentions, are forgotten about shortly after their receipt and may be even goodwill bait in a couple of years or less. Think of the ramifications if you bought a friend who suffers from frequent headaches one of the many natural headache remedies available and it turned out to help. What if you gave some whey protein to a friend who is an exercise enthusiast? It may give your buddy a real boost and help his or her workout. We could possibly turn a persons life around with a simple, small gift item.
Does this sound like a crazy idea? Maybe so, but it is also a very practical idea. It may not be celebrated with fan fare and glitter at first, but after a period of time it may come to be the greatest gift a person has ever received.

I absolutely love the atmosphere of shopping at Christmas time.
However my sister is completely different and would rather sit at home and do the shopping over the Internet at places like need a present and various other online stores.
I suppose its just personal preference at the end of the day and I can see why she would rather stay in the comfort of a warm house...but its not nearly as much fun!
You are right, it's not as much fun, although sometimes it's a good idea!
